The service the BRTF provides can be summed up as a liaison beween a rural learner and the college or university also known as Post Secondary Institutions (PSI). As long as the learner has a Grade 12 or GED this service can be provided. Each PSI has some online course or courses, some more than others, as well as different delivery systems for that course. Some courses require a learner to log on and have a "study buddy" for accountability, some are totally independent and some have learners log on during the actual class time at the PSI. Again every class and delivery method is different between the PSI's. The BRTF's job is to help the learner find the right learning option.
Together with funding dollars and an in-kind donation of office space from the Town and MD of Wainwright, this service is now offered to Town and MD residents.
