Sidewalk Snow Removal
When there is a snow event in Wainwright, the Town depends on its citizens to be helpful, responsible and aware of the need to remove all snow and ice from public sidewalks adjacent to their property located in residential and commercial districts.
During the winter months, residents (including children walking to school, seniors and the physically challenged) need to be able to safely use public sidewalks. This means that all ice and snow should be removed from the entire constructed width of the public sidewalk. This enables people of all ages and physical condition to have access to clean pedestrian walkways.
The clearing of the snow and ice from sidewalks should be viewed as a combination of courtesy and caring toward all those who need to use public walkways.
Residents and businesses are also reminded not to place snow from private properties (ie. driveways, parking lots) onto public streets.
